    Clients on Hosted Exchange on server Matilda will be experiencing login issues from all Mail Clients and Devices (Outlook, OWA, Mobile Phones)

    Our technicans are currently investigating this issue and we will post updates inside our portal

    Our technicians have advised that an upstream carrier has issues and that only some ISP's are having issues connecting. This issue is now resolved.

WAIX Emergency Upgrades 04/02/2013 (Resolved)

    Purpose:       Software upgrades to all of IX-Australias Infrastructure 

    Impact:           All MLPA and Bi-lateral Sessions.
    All peering points will be affected, this includes WAIX, VIC-IX and QLD-IX.

    Why:               Due to a potential security issue with the JunOS version running on the portions of the IX Australia Network, WAIA will be scheduling upgrades. This will cause a brief outage within the above window.

    Please be advised that there will be emergency maintenance performed in our upstream carrier's network due to a line card failure.

    This will cause a short loss of protection on our international backhaul between NZ and USA, and a protection switch between AU and USA whilst the line card is being replaced during the window above.

    This is a notice for all IP Transit customers.

Melbourne Network Outage (Resolved)

  • On Friday January 11th we experienced an unscheduled outage on our Melbourne network.  The outage was detected by our monitoring systems and technicians were dispatched to investigate the problem.
    It was found that a core piece of hardware had failed. Our Datacentre Technicians were able to restore services on to our spare hardware that we have for such incidents and services were restored quickly.

    16:20 Senior Technician arrived at facility and began investigation
    16:30 Failure identified and mitigated. 
    16:53 All Services Restored

VIC-IX Peering Outage (Resolved)

  • We have been advised by the carrier VIC-IX Peering that they are currently experiencing issues with their 3 Melbourne POP's.

    They are currently investigating their issues and will report back to us once they have a resolution.

    Update 1630 - VIC-IX has advised that this outage is only affecting the NextDC M1 portion of their Victorian Network and the cause has been isolated to the upstream VIC-IX carrier. Further update will provided when they come to hand.

  • 15:16 - Our network operations team have been alerted to an increase in BGP changes with our upstream carrier and are currently investigating the issue.


    15:20 - It has been identified by our NOC that 2 of our carriers (Vocus & AAPT) are currently experiencing issues due to problems coming from the Pipe Networks network. We have lodged faults with these carriers and are monitoring the situation.

    15:28 - Carriers have responded to our NOC team and have advised they are currently investigating the issue.

    15:38 - All services have now been restored. We apologies for the inconvenience.

    Details: Due to a fault outside the Summit network, we experienced an outage from our carriers. Our carriers acted quickly to ensure service was restored as soon as possible. This outage was wide-spread across many ISP's and Hosting Providers.
